Colt WWI era M 1911 45 ACP produced sometime between May to Oct 1918. The pistol appears to be completely correct and functions perfectly. The finish is an Army Black bluing and is clearly shown in the photos. I am unsure if and when it was reblued but the pistol seems to retain an older but quality dark blue finish with crisp and clear markings. The hammer, slide stop, mag release and thumb safety are checkered and the trigger and mainspring housing are flat as appropriate for a 1918 production piece. The pistol is marked with the Springfield Ordnance District eagle, United States Property, and serial number. Also marked inside of frame by disconnector and ejector shows the “H” conditional acceptance mark of Frank Hosmer and the "G" indicating Government order. There is a “G” stamped on the bottom of the slide beneath the firing pin area. The barrel lower lug is stamped with an “S” and “P”.
