HG108117 Here is one of the first new Smith & Wesson 5904 Pistols we’ve had in eleven years. Photo specimen is one of only a handful we were fortunate enough to get hold of. These pistols have fired brass cases dating from 2010, but the kicker is their special order codes, numeral 0044. This pistol and its mates were manufactured, then, during the week previous to the 44th day of the Millennial Year 2000; February 13 fell on Sunday that year. For some reason, probably the short lived success of the less expensive model 910 / 915, these specific 5904s languished at 2100 Roosevelt Avenue until some diligent soul found them last year. The 5904 was discontinued from Smith & Wesson’s regular line in 1998, according to the Standard Catalog; this handful, however, is an exception to that. As far as specs, the 5904 is what S&W calls traditional double action. From a rest position, operator releases the safety, fires the first shot double action, then the hammer stands and all subsequent shots are single action from a cocked hammer. Then, when the operator wants to cease, he throws the safety and the car is in park; it decocks the pistol. Not only do these have a main safety, they have a firing pin block and a magazine safety, the only handgun, for many years, with three safeties. This one has two brand new 10 round Federal Ban period factory magazines; if a person chooses, however, or lives in a jurisdiction where higher capacity mags are not restricted, we will substitute two brand new seventeen round Mec-Gar nickel steel magazines. Civilian residents of Chicago, Hawaii, Oak Park IL, or New York State will need to keep the ten rounders. For civilian resident buyers in New Jersey or South Bend IN, we will sub blue Mec-Gar 15 rounders upon request. Hammer is .260 serrated and trigger is .365 smooth faced combat, both pieces black anodized to match the black anodized alloy frame and matte blue slide. Note the Third Variant round faced serrated trigger guard. Barrel is 4 inch stainless, as the photos show; and sights are classic Novak 3 dot. Weight empty is 28.2 ounces. Grips are one piece polymer, and the grip is the only polymer part on the 5904, quite different from the 910/915 siblings. Each pistol is in its correctly numbered recent production box with its papers and late production red cable lock. Box label has some weak lettering; note, however, that the box has gray hinges of the type produced since 2002, another enigmatic aspect to this very limited release of pistols. All of the handful of specimens we have come with UCF serial number prefixes. Supica's Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson lists UAM prefixes in 1997, and then VHN prefixes in 1998. We received, however, new Smith & Wesson autos, not 5904, with V prefixes beginning late 1994, and UAF prefixes in 1995, even some UAA and UAU as late as 1999. Hence our estimate that these were actually manufactured in 2000 or 2001. We’re offering the factory new, but 12 year old, Smith & Wesson 5904 in the photos or one of its identical mates with the same Order Code and date of production for only $ 589.00. Not for sale to civilian residents of California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $12 lower 48; $40 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
