Here is a worthy specimen of a quite scarce Reagan Era Smith & Wesson, the .38 Bodyguard Stainless, first engineering change, model 649-1. This one's prefix is BEP, so it was likely manufactured in August of 1989. This fully traditional, no suffix variant of the Bodyguard Stainless is identical to the classic blue steel bodyguard except for being a stainless. It is classic short J frame. Its frame's extended area that surrounds the hammer, gives sufficient added strength that our local owners of these pre-Magnum-J frames have experienced no problems using +P ammunition in them. Since this specimen's top strap underside exhibits only negligible blast effect, we do not believe that any +P rounds have been fired in it; probable carry load was Federal non-plus-P Nyclad 125 grain ammunition. Surface detractions are only faint to moderate, edge scouring and side plate scouring here and there; and we estimate that less than 20 percent of its entire surface is affected. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Specs are: traditional double- and single-action revolver, 2 inch barrel; 1/10 inch serrated ramp blade front sight with fixed notch rear sight; .312 Satin Stainless Trigger; .240 Serrated Satin Stainless Shrouded Hammer; five shot capacity with internal transfer hammer block safety mechanism; and period correct Sile rubber combat finger groove grips. Note that the yoke screw and its adjacent area show moderate stress from this revolver's annual servicing by S&W factory-trained Department Armorers. This Stainless Bodyguard, then, is excellent mechanically; bore, cylinder chambers and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Own this attractive, historic and collectable Smith & Wesson .38 Special for only $ 449.95.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
