Winchester 37 Red Letter 20 gauge in great condition for the age of the gun. I'm fairly positive this gun is from the late 30's early 40's because of 4 reasons. 1. 1st editions had the small hammer and a pig tail lever for the action. They were only made about a year. 2. 2nd edition 37's had the small hammer and no pigtail. 2. the owners story and 3. because red letters were not made after '48. The original owner's son in law wanted this gun to get into the hands of "someone who would appreciate it after he's gone. He's got all the memories and that's good enough for him." So 20 gauge full choke 28" barrel top cocking lever, break down lever and automatic shell ejector. Original gold bead still in tact. No cracks in the butt and forearm stock. Looks like the original but plate is on the gun. Unfortunately the red letter paint in the Winchester stamp on the base of the receiver is not fully visible, however it is there verifying it's age and the story behind the gun.
