This is a custom built rifle by J Shannon of Spanaway Washington. He was known for the family of custom Cartridges he designed called the Sabre series. This is one of the more popular and rare chambering's, the 263 Sabre. Basically a 30-06 necked down to .264 with the sides blown out and the shoulder angle sharpened and moved forward, similar to a Ackley designed case. The action is a commercial FN 1953 Mauser action. It has a Canjar trigger, barrel is a Douglas 1-10 CM 22". Stock is a custom maple with tiger striping from one end to the other. Stock has ivory inlets and the bolt knob has a ivory insert. Bolt and follower are jeweled, bluing is great, nice high gloss with only a little bluing rubbed on an edge of the floor plate. When I bought it the stock had a crack at the wrist and I had it professionally repaired, basically it cost me a lot, and had it refinished in an oil finish. The rear bridge has an extra set of holes drilled and tapped, only thing I can think is they tried to install a different set of bases. Factory bases for the FN fit just fine. This rifle also comes with a set of custom RCBS FL dies so grab some '06 parent brass and you should be shooting soon. I'm selling it for about what a factory Rem 700 goes for. UPS shipping will be quoted when I have the location to ship to, all BATF rules apply.
