Here is an excellent specimen of what Beretta calls the 96 Vertec. That means it has a flatter surfaced backstrap area to its grip frame than conventional 96 and 92 models. 1911 users might say it has a flat mainspring housing area instead of a round one. That makes for a much less bulky feel on this classic 92 type design. This is the 96D basic model, meaning its action is as simple as you can get: a long smooth double action pull on every shot. When the operator wishes to stop firing, just stop pulling the trigger. It is, then Double Action Only, DAO. There is no need for a safety or decocker, since the smooth one-inch-long, ten pound approximately pull necessitates a deliberate pull of the trigger, and every shot is the same one-inch-long pull. The mechanical configuration, then, of this pistol follows the strong and correct double action only training and use protocol that is long established in Military and Police circles for revolvers. It not only trains the operator to concentrate and have a solid initiation and follow through for firing sessions, the DAO with 10 pound pull has been invaluable for tort issues with civilians and police alike who have been involved in shootings. This pistol's serial number is BER365 prefix, and we estimate it was manufactured in 2003 or 2004. Its factory night sights are full strength, and should have a decade of luminosity left. Finish is Beretta Inox Stainless, a superior hard chrome process for the alloy combined with satin stainless finish for the pistol's steel parts. Note that the hammer, trigger, sights, connector rod, disassembly lever mechanism and reversible magazine release are all durable anodized and black matte finish. Barrel length is 4 1/2 inches; and this pistol is a superbly balanced 31 ounces empty. Frame has its slotted picatinny integral rail, much better designed than competitor pistols since this lighter weight .40 can affect lights and lasers with recoil stress under protracted firing with heavy bullets. We are including a total of two ban period Restricted 11 round magazines, and the capacity is 11 + 1 rounds, but for civilian buyers in restricted areas such as Calfornia, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New York, Puerto Rico, and Toledo we will substitute two factory 10 round magazines;or to any other jurisdiction, for that matter, at the buyer's option. This particular specimen has only moderate surface wear, occasional dark toning, possibly holster dye, on its frame edges and moderate buffing on its slide and sight edges. We rate it as Very Good finishwise, since 85 percent or so of its finish is intact and unaffected. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Sadly, this fine pistol was discontinued in 2005, and its domicile Department traded it to Smith & Wesson for one of the M&P black plastic pistols. Although we appreciate all our police officers, we think their city fathers made a bad trade here. Replacement price on the nearest current production Beretta metal frame .40, the 90-Two, is over $700.00 in our area if a person can even find one. We're offering this Beretta 96 Vertec Inox DAO with Factory Night Sights, however, for only $ 459.95

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
