For sale we are offering a Winchester Model 1997 chambered in 12 gauge. Serial number indicates this shotgun was manufactured in 1903.
This vintage pump shotgun is in good condition with some moderate handling wear. The 28” barrel bluing has given way to a brown grey patina. There is scattered freckling on the barrel. The muzzle is very good with blue loss; no damage. The smooth bore is Very Good; bright without pitting. Receiver shows very little bluing, again with some scattered freckling. The walnut stock shows signs of use. There is one larger chip on the neck of the stock, left side behind receiver. Walnut pump action fore-end is worn with a small crack. Gun appears to function properly but needs a thorough cleaning. This shotgun was recently oiled and the remnants of that oil can be seen in the photographs.
