Astra A-100
A popular and durable 9mm pistol made for numerous military contracts with an obvious attempt to copy the Sig Sauer 22x series pistols. It fits well in most holsters made for for Sig 228 and 229 models. It has a 4 inch crowned barrel with traditional grooves and lands in excellent, bright condition. The barrel has a unique stippled exterior finish that effectively helps retain lubricants which reduces wear, keeping it fitting like new in the slide lug. This is a great shooter and wears like iron with no real holster wear. It has very tiny impact marks, mostly on sharp edges and slide nose. The slide and frame have a non reflective, military grade heavy beaded finish, with bright polishing on the slide flat sidebar and serrations. Still very pretty, after years of handling. There are very light signs of finish wear on the operating levers. This pistol is in excellent condition with the only apparent fault being a slightly loose take down lever on the right side. There is some very light visible wear on the outside of the barrel chamber area. This is because of the tight fit between the barrel and the slide, which is one of the reasons why the pistol is so accurate. It appears to have a thousand or so rounds run through it, so the action is very tight and should have 10 to 30K more rounds of life before any servicing needed. This pistol tears down easily for light or even heavy cleaning. Maintenance is mostly limited to removing the slide, barrel and recoil spring assembly. It comes with one original, used 17 round 9mm factory (Mec-Gar) magazine, plus one brand new factory (Mec-Gar) magazine. Magazines are not interchangeable with Sig pistols. It has factory adjustable white dot rear sights and a fixed red dot rounded front blade sight. The pistol has been taken apart, thoroughly cleaned and lubed to last several thousand rounds with nothing more than barrel cleaning & oiling, inside and out.
It is a Spanish made DA/SA improved locked breech style semi-auto that works like a Browning High Power, but looks like Sig Sauer 22x series pistols. Also known as the “Panther” when imported by Springfield Armory in the 1990’s. Originally distributed by EAA. It represents the final refined design of the earlier A-80 and A-90 series. It has no manual safety, but rather a manual de-cocking lever. It relies on the deliberate pull of the long, comparatively firm pull of the double action trigger as a safety; again like the Sig 22x counterparts. Once in double action, or cocked position, the trigger becomes much lighter. Much of the functions and take down routines mimic the Sig 22x pistols as does most of the overall appearance. It is a slightly heavier gun at 34 ounces, made entirely of stainless steel.
