Description: HG5550 The Smith & Wesson model 25-5 in .45 Long Colt caliber has always been a prized classic. Here is its closest surviving relative, strikingly similar to the ultra-rare 1950 .45 Target Model, numbered model 26. This specimen of Smith & Wesson's Mountain Gun series is highly traditional, then. The caliber itself, more than any other, has the longest viability in law enforcement circles, with a practical basis to the 25-5 desirability. This is the Model 25-13, N Frame Round Butt. Finish is bright blue steel with traditional case colored .375 semi-target hammer and .312 smooth combat trigger. Firing mechanism is floating firing pin with transfer bar safety device, and this revolver is outfitted with Smith & Wesson's patented internal lock system and two keys. Grips are factory Ahrends style Cocobolo finger groove combat. Sights are black blade windage and elevation adjustable rear with pinned ramp front sight. Barrel is traditional 1950 type tapered contour. This specimen comes to us from the estate of our favorite Pennsylvania trading colleague. Surface detractions are minimal; faint amounts of rotation marking, faint holster contact on the hammer’s edges, and faint etchy weathering residue at the edge of the left grip panel as the photos show. We rate it as Excellent, since no more than 10 percent of its surfaces are affected in our estimation; photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is Excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone is minimal, only a shallow impress that traverses about 2/3 of the width of the top strap as the photos show. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels fully 10 degrees on all six positions after the cylinder times on a slow double action pull. On single action, the hammer travels fully 30 degrees on all six, and the single action trigger pull measures a tight but crisp 4 1/8 pounds with no felt creep. From our knowledge of its late owner, and from its condition, we estimate this 25-13 has been fired no more than 150 rounds, all with light loaded ammunition. Capacity is 6 rounds of .45 Colt ammunition, weight empty is a well balanced 39.5 ounces. These revolvers were introduced at the 2004 SHOT Show, and are no longer in production. We are including a current production blue factory box. Replacement pricing on most any blue steel N-frame nowadays is upwards of $1,000.00. Own the 25-13 in the photo, however, for only $ 619.95. Now transferable to civilians in all jurisdictions of the United States of America; God bless Mr. Otis McDonald and the Illinois State Rifle Association.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Handguns: $10 flat fee lower 48 states; $30 to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
