This listing is for a genuine Italian Walnut stock assembly with tang piece, wedge pin, wedge pin / forend escutcheons and trigger guard to fit the Investarm Hawken Hunter Carbine rifles that Navy Arms imported in fair quantities during the 1980s. This stock assembly comes from a 1984 production 23 inch barreled Investarm Carbine that we sold new back then. Overall length is 25 3/4 inches; length of pull measures 14 1/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 5/8 inch factory Investarm recoil pad. This assembly will work on a 28 inch barrel Investarm Full Length Hawken or similar Lyman Great Plains Rifle, but the 28 inch barrel’s thimble rib, the underside piece that holds the ramrod thimble, will have a couple inch gap between it and the forend. This stock is made for the 23 inch Hawken Hunter Carbines only. Lyman imported a few of those, and Navy Arms brought in a good many. Stock is made of Italian Walnut with cut checkering on the forend area and on the sides of the grip area. Finish is semi-gloss oil finish. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint side contacct buffing. This stock was not hunted with very much, because its owner ruined the carbine’s barrel trying to mount a scope; he drilled the scope mount holes all the way through into the bore, rendering the barrel unsafe and unserviceable. A couple of the photos show the barrel and trigger and hammer lock assembly intact; those are Not included in this listing. The wedge pin that goes through the forend area escutcheons and holds the barrel in place are included. Walnut is not cheap any more, as most folk are aware. We’re offering this complete stock assembly for only $ 149.00.
