Here is a very solid Nixon Era Steel Frame Harrington & Richardson steel frame revolver in 2 1/2 inch Round Butt. This revolver's surface detractions are from frequent carrying; dark brown toning on the sides of the hammer and rusty frame backstrap, with light sanding evidence on the left side of the frame. We rate it as Very Good, since about 70 percent of its original finish is intact by our estimate. Photos should suffice, however, for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. The cylinder times correctly in all six positions on both single and double action with plenty of hammer travel to spare after timing. The cylinder release is a bit stick, nothing unusual for an H&R. While the trigger pull is exceptionally smooth for an H&R, a person will need to plan on pulling 1-2mm on the hammer for the cylinder to release and lock into place properly. Double action trigger pull is above average for smoothness. Serial number prefix is AH, manufactured in 1971. This steel frame H&R, of course, is capable of handling significantly more pressure than .32 S&W Long factory loads produce. A few of its descendants were chambered in .32 H&R Magnum, without redesigning the frame. This is a double and single action revolver with transfer bar internal safety device. It weighs 19 3/4 ounces empty, barrel is 2 1/2 inches long, capacity is 6 rounds of .32 S&W or .32 S&W Long Ammunition, and construction is entirely blue Steel.
