GR451 This set of genuine Factory Smith & Wesson Goncalo Alves Target Stocks left 2100 Roosevelt Avenue in October of 1981, at the peak of a spike in handgun sales set off by the attempt on President Reagan’s life early that year. They are some of the last Square Butt N Target Grips to leave the factory without a speedloader cut; left panel is thumbrest only as the photos show. These grips had a home with a 27-2 blue 5 inch whose Texas owner never fired them, opting for the better handling, but worse looking, Pachmayr SN/Ls. Surface detractions are minimal on this set, only edge scouring on the butt edge of the right panel, with negligible scouring on the same rear area of the left panel. We rate them as Excellent 95 percent, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Replacement pricing on the currently produced Rosewood grips are upwards of $150.00 per set, and the new ones are conspicuously incorrect on classic N frames from the 1970s and 1980s.
