Description: LG16183 Here is what the manufacturer calls a faithful replica of the first steel frame repeating rifle, the Winchester Model 1873, an important step to the basic form that traditional lever action rifles embody even today. Photos show a specimen from a small lot we found in an old Southern Warehouse where they have sat since their manufacture and importation a couple of years ago. This fine rifle has a 24 inch Octagonal Barrel Carbine chambered in the venerable .45 Colt caliber. This well balanced rifle weighs in at only 7 pounds 12 ounces, and its center of gravity is 2 inches forward of the juncture between barrel and receiver, exactly where it’s supposed to be. Barrel is nicely blued with a hint of purplish hue, marking is Chaparral ~ Repeating Arms / King’s Improvement Patented March 29, 1866, October 16, 1860, in front of the traditional set-screw anchored dovetailed traditional buckhorn type rear sight, with the words Cal .45 Colt behind the sight elevator. On the bottom of the receiver beneath the Italicized serial number is Cat. 16183. Upper tang is marked Model 1873. The 12 shot magazine tube, like the barrel, screws, trigger, and lever locking key are blue steel; and the receiver, forend cap, lever, hammer, and buttplate are color casehardened steel. Shell carrier mechanism and ammunition storage plate on the buttplate are solid brass, and the carrier of course mates at the bottom of the receiver. Forend and buttstock are Italian walnut with occasional shelfwear finish weakness like the photo specimen shows, on its forend or buttstock. These rifles have some of them been displayed, but never loaded, fired, or transferred; they are in their original boxes with all their papers. We only have a handful of them. Chaparral Arms, of course, is an Italian based company with relations to two great companies, Charter Arms and Armi San Marco. This rifle’s barrel is inconspicuously marked by its importer, Heritage Arms in Miami, on the right side barrel flat next to the forend. Photos show freckling on the receiver that affects only the lateral flats, hence the importation through Miami and not through Massachusetts. Box, however, is marked Chaparral Arms. Similar Italian-made rifles from competitors Uberti and Navy Arms command prices upwards of $1000 - $1500 per unit. We have not been able to offer any quality 1866 or Henry type rifles in this price range for many years, not since the 1970s. This is a one-time opportunity to own a quality, authentically styled 1873 copy at a reasonable price. We’re offering these beautiful rifles, the rifle in the photo or one of its identical mates, each for only $ 659.00. 2% discount if payment is by USPS Money Order and not credit card. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $20 flat fee lower 48 states; $50 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, UPS Ground with full insurance coverage. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
