Here is a very old, very attractive set of Smith & Wesson factory grips to fit any K or L Frame Revolver with a round butt grip frame. If any of our shoppers are not sure what your Smith & Wesson is, please see the attached photo. Smith & Wesson Models 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 64, 65, 66, 67, 581, 586, 681, and 686 in 4 inch or longer barreled Revolvers made from World War II until about 1995 are most of them Square butt grip frame. Most Model 10, 13, 19, 64, 65, and 66 revolvers with 2 to 3 inch barrels are round butt; and all K and L Frame revolvers made since about 1995 are round butt. This set is period appropriate, however, for any Victory or K Square manufactured from about 1940 until about 1962, when Smith & Wesson altered their Magna style Service Grips from Walnut to Goncalo Alves, and eliminated the diamond pattern that these grips have around their grip screws. Surface detractions on this set of Diamond Magnas is minimal to moderate, principally from storage and not from service. If the 500,000 range number inside these panels corresponds to a K prefix serial number on the issue weapon, then these were manufactured in 1962, the final year of production. Logos are intact and have good strong nickel plating with attractive green toning. Note the hairline crack visible on the top area or Wing of the right panel. Note also where it runs the length of the right panel’s inside surface. We do not detect any separation, and this should not be a problem. We rate this set as Very Good but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
