Here is a specimen of Smith & Wesson’s tried-and-proven MP-15 version of the AR-15 type rifles and carbines, and our favorite manufacturers have clearly emerged as the leader here as well, with top quality and reasonable pricing. This one is the Optics-ready variant of the MP-15, with receiver rail and no front sight. The rail is a Weaver type multiple dovetail. Weaver type rings will mount directly onto the receiver, but a person will probably be best served by using an adapter base available from Weaver and Leupold.

This specimen is a Factory Demo. It was never out of Smith & Wesson Corporate Custody until we got it; and a 4473 form has never been executed on this rifle. It is in its original box with its manual and red cable lock, manual, and 30 round magazine; with all its papers, including a valid warranty card. Surface detractions are negligible, we only see a faint whitened spot in one of the brake slots at the muzzle. Apart from being test fired at the factory, this rifle has not been loaded or fired.
