It was built by DAVE HIGGINBOTHAM, He was a well know builder of the Remington rolling block style rifles. This model is the buffalo version, the exact same style as General Custer carried in 1860. It is chambered in 50-70 and has never been fired with black powder. It has always been shot with smokeless powder. So their is no corrosion from the black powder. Dave built this rifle in 2006. It has a 28" full octagon barrel made by Green Mountain barrel company. Single blued trigger and the sight system is a beech combination sight rear vernier peep and a gold post with flip up post in circle front.This is a very accurate rifle with less than 50 round fired through it. The barrel has a beautiful deep blue and the receiver and butt plate and trigger guard and triggers is done in a case color that you must see to believe and the wood is out standing walnut. This rifle is serial number 302. Their is a list of accessories that go with it. 1 new lyman sizer lubricator in 50-70, 1 redding die in 50-70, 1 case trimmer, 50 bell brass case's, 1 new seaco bullet mold, 1 new pair mold handles, 2 sticks of lube, 2 boxes of lead bullets 1 530gr lead flat nose,1 450gr lead flat nose. These were recommended by Dave for this rifle . The powder that has been used is ACCURATE 2495 BR.
