Caliber is .38 Smith & Wesson Special, standard or +P, with 5 round cylinder capacity. Barrel is one piece full lug 2 inch, with eight groove 1:18 rifling. Sights are barrel integral ramp front on a solid rib, with frame integral fixed notch rear. Trigger is .312 serrated face, with matching short serrated spur hammer. Trigger pull will be 16 pound vicinity on double action, and 4 pound vicinity single action, and Charters are not always smooth pullers. Grips are factory issue thin finger groove combat type.
