This particular 92FS is better than a brand new one. The reason we say that, is that its finish is more durable even than stainless. Finish is Teflon & Magnesium coated, performed by Black Ice Coatings in Utah. This coating is impervious to wear and weather, and it makes an already smooth action even smoother. The only hint that this pistol is refinished, apart from its mid-1990s serial number range, is where the rear sight exhibits some surface wear. It is excellent in every other respect, on a par with the Sig CPO Pistols. This 92FS served and protected our fellow Americans in the Chesapeake for a little over a decade with the Prince George’s County Maryland Police Department, an agency with an excellent reputation for weapons maintenance. Sights are three-dot / refinish configuration, like the original GI pistols. Action is traditional single- and double action, with lock-down, decocking ambidextrous safety levers mounted on the slide. Barrel is 4.9 inch chrome lined, and note that the guide rod is steel, not plastic. Sights are rapid resolution refurbished 3 dot. Capacity is 15 plus 1, and the pistol comes with a total of two factory magazines and a black double magazine case. Grips are replacement Hogue panels, more comfortable and sure-gripping than the originals. Weight empty is a well-balanced, easy handling 33.4 ounces.
