Parker AAHE 20ga. - PACHMAYR UPGRADE, PERFECTION, BARGAIN!!!
We have all seen the mediocre upgrades of original Parker guns. Usually the work is so-so, and there is little to get excited about. However, there have been some masterpieces created, and Frank Pachmayr was responsible for some of the best. Located in Los Angeles, Pachmayr was known as "gunmaker to the stars". This particular gun started life as a VHE 20 gauge gun shipped in 1935 and has been turned into a perfect example of an AAHE Parker. The wood to metal fit, checkering, engraving, and overall fit and finish of the gun is impeccable. Now sporting finely figured wood, single selective trigger, beavertail forend, and beautiful case color and blue, the gun is a true representation of a rare Parker AAHE. They only made 27 AAHE's in 20ga. so you can imagine the cost if you were lucky enough to find one of the 25 or so remaining up for sale. Look at page 342 in the "Parker Story" tome and you will see this exact engraving and checkering pattern. If you are fond of Parkers and have a desire to have a representation of their very best, this is an affordable way to do it. And believe me when I tell you this gun is as near to perfect as any Parker could get. At the price offered you will find it thousands of dollars less than other upgrades of lesser quality and as such represents a good investment quality firearm. Enjoy its use and watch the gun grow in value. And best of all...IT IS A REAL PARKER, NOT A REPRODUCTION!
The 28" barrels have mirror bores, 100% rich rust blue, choked IC/M (.009/.018, can be altered to your specs for $75 per barrel), internal bore diameter .618 right, .620 left, minimum barrel wall thickness 28 thou right, 23 thou left, no dents or scratches, 2 3/4" chambers, ribs are tight, tight on breech face and hinge pin, clear sharp lettering.
The action retains 100% brilliant bone and charcoal case color, exceptional full coverage flower and scroll engraving, perfect screws, action tight with lever right of center, well timed ejectors, Parker single selective trigger, trigger guard fully engraved w/99% niter blue, gold inlaid "Parker Bros" and serial number, a really attractive example of Parker's finest.
The wood is French walnut, nicely figured, checkered to perfection in a perfect AAHE pattern complete with a perfect Parker Flor-de-lis at the side panels, 28lpi, gold pistol grip cap, superb wood to metal fit, gorgeous oil finish, 14 5/16" LOP to 1/2" Pachmayr pad, 13 3/4" LOP to the end of the wood from a rear trigger postion, 2 1/8" drop at heel,
1 1/2" drop at comb, 1/16" cast off, no cracks, splits, or repairs, PERFECTION!
The gun weighs in at 6lbs. 15oz. and balances nicely between the hands 1" behind the hinge pin. We can alter the stock to your specs and even remove about 3oz. of weight by hawging out the butt. Ask how we can meet your personal needs. This gun is mechanically excellent and a real stunner at a very affordable price.
