This is a Smith & Wesson Model 908 compact, member of the 39-3900 family of S&W pistols that served us so well from the late 1960s until their discontinuance altogether a few years ago. This 908, product code 103882, has a KJF serial number prefix, and date code of 8321 on its box, manufactured November 17, 1998. It is a member of the 900 Value Series of 3rd Generation S&W Double Action autos. Caliber is 9mm, traditional double action pistol with .260 wide factory bobbed hammer that fires both single and double action; .304 smooth combat trigger; single side manual safety with internal firing pin safety and magazine safety; lightweight alloy frame and steel slide in matte anodized and black finish; 3 dot drift adjustable Novak type polymer sights; two stainless body 8 round magazines, one with flat plate and one with finger rest plate; weight 23 15/16 oz empty; .732 frame thickness and .925 slide thickness. Maximum overall length 6 7/8 inches; and maximum overall height of 5 1/4 inches including the rear sight. This particular specimen comes to us from an Estate in Upstate New York. It is in its original box with Master Trigger Lock, instruction manual, laser engraving brochure, protective Nox paper, and a never completed blue factory registration card. It comes just like we got it, with one finger rest factory magazine. Surface detractions are negligible. We rate it as Excellent, perhaps Near Mint in Box. Photos should suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves, however. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean.
