Description: When Smith & Wesson reintroduced the Centennial in the Early 1990s, there was lots of talk about the metal Titanium. We knew then, 20 years ago, that Smith & Wesson could make a significantly lightened Airweight revolver, and that the metal was strong enough to withstand magnum pressure. Talk was that if they made them, they'd cost $1500.00 apiece. This, mind you, when Model 37's were selling for less than $300 apiece. Given the inflation that has set in since 2004, the Air Lite Magnums are still a bargain, even at their normal $1,000 apiece or more pricing. This is the .357 Magnum Airlite PD Centennial, the ultimate mixture of light weight and power. And we might add recoil as well. The J Magnum Scandium alloy frame houses a five shot Titanium Cylinder. Barrel length is 1.59 inches. Note the lanyard groove in the rear bottom of the grip frame. Grips are factory boot grip type soft rubber with S&W logo. Front sight is pinned-blade Red Ramp that contrasts against square notch fixed rear sight. Note the blast guard directly above the barrel's forcing cone that prevents deterioration of the top strap, and the words No Less Than 120 gr Bullet on the barrel lug. This is the black frame variant, S&W Product Code 103061, and black is better because of the difficulty in cleaning carbon off the white Sc frame. This variant does not have an internal lock. Here is the desirability cinch of the whole product: 11.4 ounces factory spec weight empty. This specimen comes in its original factory one piece cardboard box with instruction manual, NRA form, never executed factory registration papers, protective Nox paper, styrofoam pad, and 2011 dated fired brass envelope. Note that its box is overlabeled from the factory; the original sku is 103061; this one’s 6 prefix indicates it is a used revolver. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint amounts of edge whitening and carbon deposits on the Scandium Cylinder surfaces. We rate it as Excellent in Box, 95 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. From the absence of any significant blast effect to the flame shield in the frame’s top strap above the barrel’s forcing cone, we estimate it has been fired fewer than 20 time. Replacement pricing on the 340PD is considerably higher than the heavier, steel cylinder 340M&P. In our area, this revolver sells for upwards of $1,000, and these are scarce at that. We’re offering the 340PD Air Lite in the photos, however, for only $ 659.00. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
