PK485 Here is a very nicely aged Case 6-dot pattern 6217 two-blade Rope Knife from President Nixon's final year in office. Blade surfaces are a nice dark gray patina with about 20 percent superficial pitting overall. This knife has given years of service, but it was sharpened on a moderately high bevel and retains 90 percent of its original blade width by our estimate. Handle panels are very nice symmetrical 4-row picked Pakkawood, with a tiny flake on the obverse panel near the Nickel Steel Bolster, and a short crack on the reverse near the bolster. Reverse crack is nicely pocket worn like the entire surfaces of both panels, and its presence is no conspicuous detraction. This knife is excellent mechanically, with resounding backspring strength. Overall length closed is 3 7/8 inches, and the main sheepfoot rope blade measures 3 slightly over 3 inches from heel to point, and slightly under its original 3 1/8 inch length.
