It is has all original bluing and Walnut checkered grips with Colt Medallions. The condition is rated at 98% with a little wear at the muzzle (see pictures). This was manufactured in 1928 and the Walnut case was made by Ed Hebard of Duluth, Minnesota on April 23rd 1947 (The lid is stamped; see picture. It also comes with a period cleaning rod as seen in the case. These New Service Target Models feature a hand honed action,adjustable front and rear sights, checkered grip straps, and trigger. They were the top of the line and most expensive that Colt produced with only their 1911A1 National Match selling at the same price.Only 700 were produced in the 44 Russian caliber.
