Here is a worthy specimen of the classic Mossberg 500 pump gun, always one of the best values in our industry. Barrel is 2 3/4 or 3 inch capable 28 inch Accu-Choke with one screw-in choke tube; 16 Port Magna-Port type Barrel for reduced felt recoil; checkered walnut-stained hardwood forend and 14 inch pull buttstock with original factory pad; 6 shot capacity; classic Mossberg Tang Safety, southpaw-friendly. This Mossberg is a local shotgun, and has seen only moderate use in the woods and dove fields of our neighbors in McNairy County Tennessee. Its finish has occasional dark spotting on the metal, none of it conspicuous. We rate it as Very Good, since 85 percent or more of its finish is unaffected by any kind of wear; photos, however, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. This is a field grade Mossberg, not one of the cheaper Mavericks. Replacement price on this type shotgun ranges in the $400 vicinity in our neck of the woods.
