This black powder rifle was built and purchased new from the James River Armory and has been fired only five times by the original (and only) owner. The key to this rifle is the Hoyt barrel, which makes it a much more accurate shooter. The weapon was acquired for hunting, but would make an excellent rifle for anyone involved as a Civil War re-enactor, especially as a skirmisher.
Barrel specs: it is a 33" long Hoyt .58 caliber barrel with multi-groove (five lands/five grooves) rifling with a 1 in 60 twist; the front sight was replaced by Hoyt when they processed the barrel, while the rear sight is the original.
The overall length of this rifle is 49" and includes the following extras:
* 2 additional nipples
* 1 steel ramrod (rifle already has a brass ramrod)
* Nipple wrench
* Nipple capper
This black powder rifle can be shipped directly to you and does NOT require an FFL.
NOTE: This auction is subject to closing early in the event of a local sale.
