Manufacturer was Smith & Wesson of Springfield, MA. Product number was 104780, ended in 2007. The 908, 910, and 915 pistols, and their counterparts in other calibers, were part of Smith & Wesson’s Value Series companions to its third generation metal frame pistols like the 5906 and 4506. Type is traditional double and single action, locked breech, semiautomatic pistol with double stacked magazine well. Chambering is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Construction is steel barrel, slide, trigger, hammer, magazine, levers and internal parts; alloy frame and sights; one piece polymer grip and magazine floor plate. Barrel is 4 inch, distinctive contoured muzzle, stainless steel 4 inch, with six groove 1:18.75 right hand rifling. Slide is squared steel with rear serrations, matte blue finish, and single side safety and decocking lever that favors a right handed shooter. Sights are white dot combat type, dovetailed front and rear, drift adjustable only for windage. Frame is lightweight alloy with flat black anodized finish. Trigger is .312 combat smooth faced steel, with matching semi skeletonized, serrated spur hammer. The 910 has a firing pin safety, the main safety deocking lever, and a magazine safety so that it will Not fire single shot with its magazine removed. Magazine is original civilian issue factory 10 rounder, but we will sub a factory or Mec-Gar 15 or 17 rounder for buyers who reside in jurisdictions where they are permitted – for $10 additional charge. This pistol will accept any magazine for a Smith & Wesson 5900 series or 59 series pistol. Overall length is 7 5/8 inches from muzzle to grip frame strut; height is 5 1/2 inches from the top of the rear sight to the magazine butt plate. Weight empty is 27 1/2 ounces, with center of gravity at the trigger. Double action trigger pull is a smooth 10 pound vicinity, and single action gauges at 6 pounds with minimal felt creep and moderate overtravel. Surface detractions on this 910 are moderate, principally toning to the matte slide finish, with faint edge wear and light scouring on its grip.
