According to its BNP serial number prefix, this .357 Military & Police Heavy Barrel Stainless was manufactured in February or March of 1993 as Smith & Wesson went into high speed production due to the shooting public's correct prediction that the Clinton Administration had an anti-gun agenda. It is one of the last fully traditional model 65 Smith & Wessons manufactured, since the square butt grip frames began phasing out in 1995. Note the Satin Stainless hammer and smooth .312 Satin Stainless Combat Trigger. Barrel, of course, is 4 inch Heavy Barrel, and the weight empty is a well balanced 37 to 38 ounces. This former service revolver has been professionally refinished to matte stainless by our old friends at DGS Custom Gunsmithing in Millington, Tennessee. The matte finish with the original satin stainless hammer and trigger make for an attractive, durable finish that exhibits no glare at all. Mid 1980s Pachmayr SK-GP grips show only moderate wear to their high points. It is Excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is negligible, and that area cannot be distinguished from its adjacent surfaces. This revolver has digested very few if any Magnum rounds. Lateral play to the cylinder is negligible, no more than 1/2 mm total movement both with the trigger relaxed and with it depressed all the way. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels an exceptional 10 to 15 degrees after the cylinder times in all six positions on double action. On single action, the hammer travels a full 25 to 30 degrees on all six after the cylinder times, and the single action trigger pull is a tight but crisp 4 1/4 pounds. Bore and cylinder chambers are bright, clean, and excellent. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a tight .005, which helps explain the absence of blast effect to the top strap. This is a very well constructed and very attractive model 65. It is collectable by virtue of its configuration as a fully traditional K frame Magnum. We are including a North Carolina Department of Corrections left hand security duty holster. Own this attractive, eminently serviceable S&W 65-4 for only $ 379.95 Not transferable to civilians in California, D.C., or Massachusetts. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
