Here are some authentic West German Police Holsters that came in alongside a good many very nice German Walther P1 and P38 pistols we received earlier this year, and that we have for sale on three electronic venues. These holsters, their parent pistols, and their issuance owners served on the Front Lines of the Cold War, side by side with our soldiers, with the Federal West German Police, the Bundespolizei. Most specimens are marked B.M.G., probably B. Meyer of Gronau, manufacturer on the Dutch border. Date of Production is visible on most specimens, late 1950s to mid 1960s, and the majority of our pistols fell within that production period. Type is classic protective flap type with extra magazine pouch stitched into the front. These all are of excellent construction, .150 or more thickness of authentic West German Cow, not Chinese nylon. Outer finish is black dye, and inner finish is soft natural smooth leather. These holsters show moderate amounts of wear to their black dye, minimal thread frays, and minimal cracking. We rate them as Good Condition, perhaps Very Good, and buyers’ holsters will come from the same exact batch as the photo specimens. The parent Bundespolizei pistols were as well maintained as any police guns we’ve ever had. German soldiers and police officers take great pride in, and good care of, their equipment. We classify them all as Very Good, close to Excellent, and photos should suffice for our shoppers to check our grading. Buyers will receive a holster from the same lot as the photo group. Even though these are not period correct for World War II Walthers, they're better than no holster at all for the older guns, and they are used just enough to be soft and pliable. These holsters fit a 5900 type Smith & Wesson very well, in addition to many other pistols including a Browning Hi-Power or its Hungarian FEG made clone like the one in some of our photos; and they yield superior protection for outdoor use in our briar thickets here in the Hatchie River bottomlands and their adjacent hills here in Tennessippi where we are located. They will not fit a TSW variant Smith & Wesson because of its rail, or a Beretta 92. The full coverage flap securely anchors with the military type stud apparatus, and the single magazine pouch sewn on the front area will hold a good many different varieties of single-stacked magazines.
