According to its BNP serial number prefix, this .357 Military & Police Heavy Barrel Stainless was manufactured in February or March of 1993 as Smith & Wesson went into high speed production due to the shooting public's correct prediction that the Clinton Administration had an anti-gun agenda. It is one of the last fully traditional model 65 Smith & Wessons manufactured, since the square butt grip frames began phasing out in 1995. Note the Satin Stainless hammer and smooth .312 Satin Stainless Combat Trigger. Barrel, of course, is 4 inch Heavy Barrel, and the weight empty is a well balanced 37 to 38 ounces. This former service revolver has been professionally refinished to complete coverage matte stainless by our friends at DGS Custom Gunsmithing in Millington, Tenn. Uncle Mikes grips are period correct, with only moderate wear. They conceal minimal residual surface pitting on the extreme rear sides of the frame above and on the sides of the grip frame. We rate this revolver as Excellent / Refinished; but photos should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. It is Excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is negligible, only a very faint residual streak with no evidence of cutting whatsoever. This revolver has seen very few magnum loads fired through it. Lateral play to the cylinder negligible. With the trigger relaxed, total movement is less than 1mm by our estimate; and with the trigger depressed all the way, there is no lateral movement whatsoever. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels an exceptional 15 degrees after the cylinder times in all six positions on double action. On single action, the hammer travels a full 30 to 35 degrees on all six after the cylinder times, and the single action trigger pull is a crisp 3 3/4 pounds. Bore and cylinder chambers are bright, clean, and excellent. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .006. This is a very well constructed and eminently serviceable model 65. It is collectable from its classic traditional configuration. We are including a North Carolina Department of Corrections left hand Federal Man holster. Own this attractive, eminently serviceable S&W 65-4 for only $ 379.95 Not transferable to civilians in California, D.C., or Massachusetts. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
