Our Detective friends at Memphis PD will oblige any attentive listeners and lecture about how many handguns are stolen out of permittees’ vehicles in Shelby County every year. These dangerous little thieves aren’t very smart, but they know to look under the driver’s seat. Here is a very neat little device that will help bring that figure down. Much more importantly, it will cut down on the chance that a child might get hold of a loaded firearm left in a vehicle. The Nanovault, writes the company, is supplied with a 1500 pound test security cable. There is usually a mounting device in a vehicle or boat that the cable can securely attach to, and the Nanovault’s lock prevents pilferage of the cable itself. Amateur car burglars simply don’t carry bolt cutters with them. Manufacturer of this small vault is GunVault of San Bernardino. Construction is 20 gauge steel with padded interior. Both lids, top and bottom, are lined with 1/2 inch memory fitting foam. The quarter turn lock is furnished with two steel keys. Dimensions are 8.20 inches long by 6 inches wide by 1 3/4 inches thick. Some of our photos show the largest handguns we could fit into these. Glock 17s and 22s are a go, but with edge to metal contact; the Glock 19 / 23 and smaller sizes are idea. Smith & Wesson Metal Frame Contacts like models 6906 and 3953 are a go, but the larger 4003 and 5906 variants will not work. A 2 1/2 inch Smith & Wesson Medium Frame like the 315 Nightguard in some of our photos and its similar sized model 686 in 2 1/2 inch is a go, but the 3 inch 686s with combat grips will not work. Our photographer’s 2 1/2 inch barreled Charter .44 Bulldog is a very nice fit, and the same holds true for a 2 inch Taurus Judge; these will not, however, work for a 3 inch Judge. So long as you stay under the dimensions, and measure your handgun’s height from the bottom of the butt to the top of the rear sight and that’s no more than 5 1/2 inches; you have a go on height / Nanovault width of 6 inches. Similarly, if overall length measured in line with the barrel is 7 1/2 inches or less from the muzzle to the grip frame strut or back edge of the grip frame butt, you have a go. And so long as cylinder diameter or maximum frame or grip width is under 1 1/2 inches, you’ll have a go on that. This is a great little US made device. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
