Barrel bands are marked with a "U".
Top of metal butt plate is marked with "U.S."
Cartouche on left of stock marked "SWP" above "1887"

Gun blue is good along the length of the stock with some tarnish at the last 4 inches of the barrel.
Stock is in good shape with some minor dings consistent with normal use. There is a very small defect or chip on the underside of the stock just left of the ramrod entry point. Difficult to see.
The gun's action is in good shape. Hammer clicks back to 3 positions. Trigger works perfectly.
Overall this is a good rifle in good shape. Markings, stamps, and cartouche are all clear.
