The principal detraction to this seldom-seen variant of the popular Remington Large Stockman 3 blade knife is, of course, that it had done quite a bit of what it was made for, the north Delta Cotton Farmer who owned it used the main clip blade for pulling cotton samples, and he oversharpened it on anything he could find, a file more often than not. The main blade only measures 2 5/8 inches, from its beveled down point to its heel. Since overall length is a dead 4 inches, the blade originally measured 3 1/4 inches. Despite its over-used condition, backspring resiliency is excellent not only on that blade, but on the other two as well. The other two blades, the sheepfoot and spey blade, are full length so far as we can tell, and they retain about 80 to 85 percent of their original width, as the photos will show. The encircled Remington trademark is stamped on the tang of all three blades. This knife’s forte is its very well preserved cracked ice handle panels that retain their original gold toning very well. All rivets are in place, the shield is in place, and all four bolsters are at least very good with moderate pocket wear scouring at places. With a full length clip blade and some repair competence, this could be made into a very valuable knife. We’re offering it as it is, however, for only $ 50.00.
