Offered is this fine and rare 1894 saddle ring carbine in 38-55 wcf made in 1915 with a special order factory shotgun butt stock. The barrel is 20 inches, bore is excellent, I rate it 9+ on a 1 to 10 scale, rifling is sharp, bright and shiny. Front sight is factory post & blade, rear is Winchester #44A carbine ladder style. Barrel and magazine retain 90%+ blue. Receiver is in excellent mechanical condition, feeds, chambers and ejects smoothly. Receiver retains 50 to 60% blue. Stock and forend are tight and solid, all wood stands proud above all metal contact surfaces. Finish is excellent. Buttplate is correct and free of chips & cracks. The only flaw on the wood is what appears to be a small repaired area on right side of forend between the receiver and the barrel band. Overall this is easily an 85% saddle ring carbine in rare 38-55.
