Here we have an old Winchester Model 1886 Rifle (.45-90). This item has a 26” tapered octagon barrel with scratches and wear in the blueing. The bore is in fantastic shape for a rifle of this age with no visible pitting, the rifling is shallow but the bore is bright & shiny (something that you never see in these old rifles). The receiver and lever still have some of the original color case hardening intact but does show scratches and light pitting. The tang of the receiver had been broken off at some point and then repaired also the wood stocks had been replaced as has the rear sight. The stocks are in good condition with some light scratches & dings. There is on chip in the fore-end just ahead of the receiver on the left side. D.O.M. Is 1887 and comes with a letter from the Cody Firearms Museum.
