HG0002 From a decade or less of service with Minnesota’s finest comes this very attractive Smith & Wesson .357 Combat Magnum Stainless, numbered model 66, first engineering change, in its standard service configuration: square butt grip frame; 4 inch pinned heavy barrel; .265 serrated face service trigger in satin stainless, with matching hammer nose style .375 semi-target hammer; and period correct Sile Rosewood combat K-Square grips without speedloader cut. Left side of frame is marked Minn State Patrol / 144. We estimate that this revolver stayed in service for less than a decade, because most agencies began trading for semi-autos in the mid 1980s. Type is traditional single and double action revolver with transfer bar internal safety mechanism; weight empty 38 ounces; capacity six rounds of .38 Special or .357 Magnum ammunition interchangeably; windage and elevation adjustable black blade rear sight, matte non-glare stainless barrel rib and serrated ramp stainless front sight. Grip frame is classic K Square Butt, and it sports a period correct set of Sile Target Stocks, genuine Italian Rosewood in mint condition with thumb rest indentation on the upper left panel, not cut for speedloader. Serial number prefix is 47K, -3800 range; so this revolver was manufactured in late 1978 or early 1979. Barrel has is secured into the frame with the classic Bangor Punta era steel pin, and the cylinder’s rear chamber faces are counterbored, or recessed as we often say, Pinned and Recessed. Stainless finish has undergone polishing at some point; otherwise, this Minnesota veteran’s surface detractions are minimal, with only a few inconspicuous pecks. We rate it as Very Good / polished; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is Excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone is moderate, a thin shallow groove that traverses about 3/4 of the width of the top strap. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is wider than average, .012 measured from the right side. Lateral play to the cylinder is moderate, no more than 2mm total with the trigger relaxed, and even less with the trigger fully depressed. Double action trigger pull is very smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels an additional 2 to 5 degrees on all six positions after the cylinder times. On single action, the hammer travels fully 25 degrees on all six after the cylinder times; and the single action trigger pull is a crisp 3 1/16 pounds. Bore, cylinder chambers and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We are including a North Carolina Dept. of Corrections period correct left hand holster. We’re offering this very nice Minnesota State Patrol Model 66 for only $ 419.95. Not transferable to civilians in California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
