The Henry Big Boy, writes the factory, captures the wild west adventures of cowboy life on the trail. The Henry Big Boy .44 Magnum is capable of handling Old West .44 Smith & Wesson Special cartridges, but it also handles full house .44 Remington Magnum for the pulse quickening thrill of a trophy buck leaping into view. Every Henry Rifle is a descendant of the old Ithaca Company in New York, simply relocated to the Bronx and much refined. Ithacas were always slick finished guns, and the Henrys are even slicker. Photo shows a specimen of Henry’s H006 Big Boy. Manufacturer, of course, is Henry Repeating Arms located in New York City, ancestral home of the owning family for many generations. Construction is blued steel barrel, bolt, lever, and internal parts; with slick finished brass receiver that gave the company its name. Forend and buttstock are American Walnut with brass band and buttplate. Barrel is 20 inch octagonal with classic Marble Diamond inlaid step elevation adjustable, drift windage adjustable rear sight and brass bead front sight. Type is lever action repeating rifle, but the Big Boy loads with a Marlin inspired removable brass inner magazine tube that guards against bullet and case deformity, as the photos show. Capacity is 10 + 1 rounds of .44 Special or .44 Magnum ammunition. Weight empty is 8.68 pounds. Overall length is a compact, quick 38 1/2 inches. Receiver is drilled to accept a Weaver number 63B or Leupold 49987 one piece scope mount base, same numbers as for a Marlin 336. The Henry Big Boy is as attractive as any U.S. Made Rifle ever. They aren’t easy to come by, either. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
