SALE PENDING. FN HERSTAL, BELGIUM MADE HI POWER PISTOL, 9MM PARABELLUM - LIMITED PRODUCTION SFS (SAFETY FAST SHOOTING) SAFETY & HAMMER SYSTEM - Very Minty in about 99.5% overall condition. The only reason I do not rate it at 100% is because I fired it, but very little. The SFSs were only produced and offered by FN, no other HP maker, and are no longer being offered by them. They are rarely encounter for sale and are much more desireable over the conventional Hi Power design of having to keep the hammer all the way back when in cocked & locked mode. The SFS keeps the hammer totally out of the way, completely snag free, and affords greater concealment. The SFS system is the brainchild of the highly renounded custom firearms shop of Cylinder & Slide. After the gun is cocked, the hammer is pushed forward and automatically engages the ambidextrous thumb safety. When the safety is thumbed off, the hammer springs back into cocked position and the gun is instantly in single-action fire-ready mode. The system also affords a vastly improved trigger pull over the conventional Hi Power system. After a slight take up, it breaks with a crisp let off of about 5 lbs versus the creepy, crunchy, 10 lb. plus trigger pull of the conventional HP system. This is a Mark III HP with SFS, but with a nicely high polished factory blue versus the painted on finish of the Browning MK III HP. According to Cylinder & Slide, the MK III is considerably more durable and will take a bit more abuse than the non-MK III HP models. This one comes with the original box, but no manual and paperwork inserts, however, the owner's manual can be downloaded. I installed a pair of ultra-thin Micarta canvas grips from Brownell. They were not thin enough for my satisfaction, so I spent many hours reconfiguring these to the thinnest possible tolerances while retaining most of the original checkering…talk about a comfortable and concealable profile, probably moreso than a with a pair of Spegel Ultra Thin grips in my opinion. This originally came with a 10-round mag that I discarded and replaced with three 15-round high capacity magazines. The gun comes with the three 15-round mags. The buyer receives all three 15-round mags, but not not where they are prohibited. There are twelve other 20-round MecGar mags that are available separately. These SFSs are extremely hard to find. This pistol was shot very little and never carried. Most of these mags have never fed any rounds into the gun, and they are all in excellent+ condition. MecGar is the leading magazine manufacture for several of the major USA and European firearms manufactures, including FN & Browning.
