Description: From the collection of one of our distinguished career U.S. Navy Veterans comes this very pretty Browning Auto Five Standard Weight, manufactured by Fabrique Nationale, Herstal, Belgium, in 1953, part of the first full Post-War Year of Production for FN. Chambering is 2 3/4 inch Shells, and the barrel is full length 27 1/2 inches including the period correct Poly-Choke Variable Choke. Barrel, as the photos show, is solid rib. Our Veteran bought this shotgun in Florida during the early 1960s and had the Poly-Choke installed, so the gunsmith refinished the shotgun after he soldered the choke device in place. Lettering is sharp throughout. We only detect one buffed area on the lower left side of the receiver directly above the trigger, and there is some weakness to the proof marking on the forward right side of the receiver. We rate the metal as Excellent Refinish. Scouring to the gloss finish to the original stock and forend is only moderate, mostly on the right side of the forend. We rate the wood as Very Good, 80 to 85 percent. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Note that the safety is the more desirable Post-War conventional type, behind the trigger. Also note that the shell carrier has minimal streaking for shell insertion, this shotgun has not been loaded many times in the past 40 years, much less fired. Rib is solid rib with early 1960s red bead on the Poly Choke. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Note the paperwork, too. This old Browning has its original Instruction Manual, marked Printed in Belgium; it has the original walnut plug, properly named 3-Shot Adaptor and even has that part’s original envelope; and it has the 1952 copyrighted Poly Choke instruction tag. We’re offering this very attractive and distinctive Browning for only $ 549.95. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Long Guns: $20 flat fee shipping to the lower 48 states; $50 to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
