It is a very rare occasion when we get a used firearm of any kind and don't have to clean it. This one, however, belonged to one of our best old customers from Reagan, Tennessee; and he bought it new from us when Tennessee opened up its 2- to 3-week muzzleloader seasons in 1986 and 1987. It is a locally owned rifle, and it has been kept cleaned. Hunted with, yes, but cleaned religiously by an upstanding Baptist hunter. Stock is genuine American Walnut, and barrels is classic 26 inch Thompson / Center Renegade octagonal, 1 inch across the flats. This rifle is entirely original except for a red spot of paint on the rear of the blade front sight, and that will remove quite easily. Finish has minimal handling wear: there is one small scratch on the left side flat about 6 inches back of the muzzle, and a half dozen small scours on the stock, mostly on the right side of the buttstock area. We rate it as excellent finishwise, since we estimate that 90 percent or more of the original finish is intact; photos, however, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically. The bore is whistle clean, good as new, and has no pitting whatsoever. Note the added double screw sling swivel mounted to the rear of the thimble rib just forward of the forend area. Not also the excellent fiddleback pattern to the buttstock area, birdseyes on the pistol grip, and nice grain to the forend area. This is the fully traditional Renegade with double set triggers, blued barrel and trigger guard, and color casehardened hammer, lock, and triggers. Caliber, of course, is .54 with the versatile 1:48 right hand twist that is accurate with all forms of bullets, sabots, maxi-balls, or even patched round balls. The Renegades, sadly, are discontinued, and replacement pricing on a new Hawken is upwards of $600.00. We're offering this attractive, serviceable .50 Renegade with double set triggers for only $ 389.00.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $20 flat fee lower 48 states; $50 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, UPS Ground with full insurance coverage. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
