Here is the current, state-of-the-art form of the Classic Colt Combat Commander model that retains the traditional look and balance of John M. Browning's invention with updates that maintain its status as the leader in combat handgunning. This is the classic 4 1/4 inch barrel all-steel Colt O series Stainless all-steel Commander, catalog #O4012XSE, .45 ACP. Construction is stainless steel, 7 3/4 inches overall length, skeleton Commander hammer, aluminum 3 hold serrated combat trigger with overtravel adjustment capability, 3-dot Novak style sights, with Diamond Checkered Rosewood Colt grips. It has factory Beavertail Grip Safety, and extended 4-serration ambidextrous safety. The XSE Commander comes with beveled magazine well and two 8 + 1 capacity magazines. Finish, as the photos show, is matte stainless verticals with brushed stainless side features. Weight is 36 oz empty with magazine. This particular specimen comes to us from a local collector who bought it new from one of our friendly local West Tennessee Competitors in 2014. Serial number is FC34,000 range, E suffix. He claims it was fired fewer than 50 times and that appears to be the case. Hammer face and barrel surface show only a minimal amount of slide and bushing contact. This Commander is in its original box with orange warning tag, factory lock, both factory 8 shot magazines, chamber protector, and instruction manual. Neither magazine shows any carbon on its follower, and there is only a minimal amount of carbon on the breech face. We rate it as Near Mint in Box, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. In a market awash with plastic, here is the original real thing, all 36 oz. of it. Replacement price on this pistol in our area, if a person can even find one, is upwards of $1,200.00.
