The SLR-95 Milled Receiver(not stamped) , very accurate.
It is a sporterized version of the venerable Russian AK style auto-loader. It comes equipped with a black polymer thumbhole stock five round detachable Zytel magazine, and a muzzle brake.
The fit and finish of the SLR-95 is excellent, It has none of the burrs and poor finish that plague many SKS's. And, unlike the MAK-90's and Maadi's, the SLR-95 is milled steel rather than stamped. The stock and handguard fit without any wobble or spaces (unlike some of the SKS's and MAK-90's I've encountered).
All metal parts come with a black finish. The stock and handguard are either black polymer or European hardwood. A cleaning/tool kit and sling are also provided.
The magazine is a removable Zytel five round clip. This limitation is easily overcome as the SLR-95 will accept most AK clips. I've used 30 round Norinco clips and found them to perform without problems, unless the poor finish of these Chinese magazines is considered a problem.
Trigger pull is very crisp.
The Bulgarian SLR95 is one of the best post ban AK variant around. Hard to find this type of quality.
The Bulgarian SLR-95 is a milled AK variant that was imported in to the United States from 1994 to 1998. It is a post ban version of the AK produced by Arsenal of Bulgaria.
The new Arsenal rifles cannot hold a candle to the SLR-95. The new Arsenal rifles just aren't made as nicely. The SLR-95 is all made-in-Bulgaria, unlike the modern Arsenal rifles. The action and the trigger are extremely slick. In addition, this one has the rare Alloy milled receiver- a few were built like this before they quit making them when they switched to stamped. Another great feature is that the rifle accepts all drums and magazines and fires the 7.62x39 cartridge.
