LG2615 The Russian Army has always been known for superb maintenance of its weapons. Here is a carbine variant of the Moisin-Nagant bolt action rifle, workhorse of the Russian Army through World War II. Barrel length is 21 inch, carbine length compared to its 30 inch barreled siblings. Many refer to these as cavalry carbines, and the Russian Army indeed still used horses up until the late 1940s. It has the side-folding bayonet. All the metal surfaces are arsenal refinished, professionally done with sharp lettering throughout. Stock has been refinished as well, with a moderate amount of residual pecking and scouring. Receiver is import marked by Century Arms, M44 Russian 7.62x54R, with Century’s own serialization. We rate this Moisin as Very Good / Refinish, close to Excellent. The rebluing shows some faint freckling here and there. Bore is bright, clean, and excellent, with only a few striations on the rifling lands. We detect no pitting whatsoever. This rifle is excellent mechanically. The military serial number on the bolt matches the receiver’s number. Photos should suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
