LG1147 From one of our Irish relatives here in West Tennessee comes this pristine specimen of the classic Marlin .22 Bolt Action, Tube Fed, Bright Blue model 983, heir to the classic 783, in an American Walnut stock. All Marlin Rimfires made in the last 25 years, like this one, have a forward-fire movement safety lever. Barrel is 22 inch Micro-Groove, 20-groove, barrel with 1:16 right hand twist. Rear sight is Buckhorn style folder with stepped elevator and drift adjustable only for windage. Front sight is ramp style, brass bead with wide hood protector. Receiver is 3/8 wide grooved and also drilled and tapped. Magazine capacity is 12 + 1. Stock is an attractive cut ch, and this little rifle weighs a light 6 1/3 pounds empty. It is excellent mechanically; it has, to our direct knowledge, been fired fewer than 50 times, and it has never been scoped. It still has the original grease on its bolt, and part of the original hang tag in its forward swivel stud. Its only surface detraction is a faint mar on the left side of the comb of the buttstock. We rate it as Excellent, Near Mint, 95 percent finishwise. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Serial number is 92639000 range, manufactured in 2008; and we sold it new to its exclusive owner that year. At any rate, it is one of the last 983 rifles to leave the Kenna Drive plant in New Haven before these rifles were discontinued in 2010. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
