Savage Model 1899 .30-30 with factory "B" engraving (by Enoch Tue) and factory "B" checkering. Barrel is 26 inches long. Bore shows wear but remains shiny with viable rifling. Letter by J.T. Callahan (Arms Historian) indicates 1902 production, including pistol grip stock. Barrel appears to have been refinished, as there is some softening to markings. It currently retains about 85% rust blue finish but remains absent pitting. If the receiver has been refinished, it was with great care, as engraving remains sharp. Approximately 25% case colors remain on lever. A Redfield aperture sight has been added. Forend has some impressions but checkering remains sharp. Stock is cracked through at the base of the pistol grip (probably will not be visible in photos), a recoil pad has been added and the top of the crescent butt plate inletting has been filled with a piece of walnut. Complete photo package and copy of letter by request. Price firm. Layaway considered.
