From its home in a Florida importer's warehouse comes this Akkar 12 gauge 3 1/2 inch Shotgun. Manufacturer was Akkar Silah Sanayi Ltd. of Istanbul, Republic of Turkey. Importer was Samco Global Arms, Inc. / SGAI of Miami, the Charles Daly Importer from 2012 until 2015. From their 10 and 11 serial number prefixes, these shotguns are pre-Dalys. Action is double slide bar pump shotgun, Benelli Nova type. Construction is steel barrel, bolt, trigger, magazine assembly, levers, and internal parts, built into a light weight alloy receiver, with graphite based synthetic stock and forend; and with polymer trigger housing assembly. Chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch, 3 inch, and even 3 1/2 inch shells interchangeably. Barrel is 28 inch with muzzle threaded for standard Rem-choke tubes. Bore is standard diameter, non back bored, and chrome lined. Tube furnished is a .701 Modified. Barrel has 22 ports arrayed on both sides 4 inches back of the muzzle. Sight system is .275 width serrated top, 8 post ventilated rib, that sits .20 inch above the barrel at the lug. Front sight is conventional brass bead that mates with the serrated receiver top. Magazine tube is 13 inch open end with spring retainer, holds 4 rounds of 2 3/4 inch or 3 rounds of 3 or 3 1/2 inch 12 gauge shells interchangeably. Operators of Italian shotguns and their clones often figure out how to rest a ghost round on the shell carrier. The .240 smooth faced trigger pulls single stage at 6 pounds vicinity with substantial felt creep but minimal overtravel. Safety is push button type, behind the trigger, set on right handed shooter, and gunsmith reversible. Forend is rounded front with corn cob type serrations. Buttstock is field type with checkered surface laterals on its pistol grip. Length of pull is 13 7/8 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 3/4 inch recoil pad. Stock drop is standard 1 1/2 at comb and 2 1/2 inches at the heel. Stock has a 3/4 inch right handed cant. Weight is 6 pounds, 10 ounces, with center of gravity at the breech face. Finish is Next GI Camo, with black semi gloss carrier and bolt; and with black polymer trigger assembly. Marking is electronically engraved on the barrel and inked on the receiver, with roll stamped serial number that usually affects the finish. Surface detractions are negligible. We rate this Akkar and its mates as Excellent in Box, perhaps Near Mint, 90 to 95 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, threads, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We do not believe these shotguns were ever loaded or fired.
