Description: From its civilian domicile in New England comes this Star PD .45 ACP pistol, as far as we know the first production 1911 style sub compact. From its X 1 date code, it was manufactured in 1975, the Fourth Year of Production of a series that lasted until the Colt 1991 Officer debuted 16 years later. In 1978 Mr. Sam Cummings morphed Garcia's inventory into his own Interarms Corporation, so this is a first year Interarms Star PD. Manufacturer was Star Bonifacio Echeverria, S.A., of Eibar, Spain. Original was Interarms, 10 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA. Type is modified Browning 1911 design semi-automatic pistol, single action only. Construction is steel slide assembly, internal parts, and magazine built into a lightweight alloy frame. Barrel is 3 3/4 inch, six groove right hand 12.28 rifling with full length guide rod. Hammer is.318 checker serrated short spur. Trigger is .226 serrated face. Grips are original factory checkered Spanish Walnut. Sights are stake on serrated blade front and low profile windage and elevation adjustable rear. Slide thickness measures only .90 inch at the port; height is 4 7/8 inches from the magazine plate to the top of the rear sight; overall length measures 7 inches from the muzzle to the end of the grip frame strut; and weight empty is only 24 3/4 ounces. Safety is left side mounted lever type, main safety only for right handed shooter; the PD does not have a magazine or firing pin safety. Trigger pull is 4 1/2 ounces with no felt creep. Both magazines are factory Star. The original open ported mag has its chrome cartridge follower, and the custom modified small slot magazine is a converted shortened model P mag with a well executed anodized alloy floor plate. Capacity is 6 + 1 rounds of .45 ACP Ammunition, best to use standard load ball or rounded shouldered hollow point, and best to avoid hot loaded or sharp-shouldered hollowpoint ammunition. Finish is an old renickel with visible buffing effects on the letters. Surface detractions are extensive, principally peeling on the frame and dullness to the slide finish. We rate this PD as Fair Refinish, perhaps Good, 60 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. Edge wear to the spring buffer is moderate, and the same holds true to the guide rod face inside the frame. We estimate this pistol has been fired only 600 or 700 times. We’re offering the 1978 Star PD in the photos for only $ 359.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. Any ammunition or personnel showing in our photos are Not included.

Add a Triple-K Secret Agent Right Hand Belt Slide Holster for $36.00. Or a Galco IWB model for $19.00 and no extra shipping.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
