The shotgun retains 85% plus of the original Commercial High polish blue finish with a couple of dings The stock and forearm are varnished walnut and has been fitted Packmeyer White Line replacement pad. "U.S." and the Ordnance "Shell and Flame" insignia are roll-stamped on the right side of the receiver below the ejection port. A small "Shell and Flame" insignia is stamped on the top of the barrel just head of the Winchester proofmark. The Ordnance final inspection mark which consists of the initials "W.B." in a rectangle above a small (1/4-inch) Ordnance escutcheon is stamped on the left side of the stock. The right side of the barrel is roll-stamped with the legend: "MADE IN NEW HAVEN CONN U.S.OF AMERICA/-WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-" "WINCHESTER/-TRADE MARK-" MODEl 12-12 GA.-23/4 CHAM./CYL". . The oval Winchester "W/P" proofmark is stamped on the top of the barrel and receiver. The serial number, "965499" is roll-stamped on the underside of the barrel and receiver.
