Description: The hype and market activity among firearms since the 2008 elections is not a new phenomenon. The many reconfigured models of tactical or riot shotguns we have seen since November 2008 are not either. In 1994, mostly as a result of media hype and psychological effect from the Los Angeles Riots of 1993, Winchester introduced its Model 1300 Defender with 18 inch Cylinder Bore barrel and 6 + 1 Magazine Capacity. Here is a very nice specimen from that first year's production, 1994. Its serial number is L26971xx. The 1300 weighed in at only 6 1/2 pounds, considerably lighter than its Remington competitors; and it was a slick-made, attractive, smooth-functioning shotgun with 3 inch capability. This specimen has seen more patrolling than shooting. Operation streaking to the double slide bars is only moderate. There is extensive moderate whitening to the lightweight gloss anodized receiver, mostly on its edges; and extensive scouring to the hardwood stock and forend. Bolt surface has extensive dark spotty toning on its unblued exposed surfaces. Shell carrier or floorplate shows minimal white streaking from loading and unloading. We rate this 1300 Defender 12 gauge as Good to Very Good, since we consider that 70 to 75 percent of its original finish is intact. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Forend is traditional round serrated, Corncob, military & police type, with plain light colored matching hardwood buttstock with an inch thick original factory recoil pad. The 1300 Defender was, sadly, discontinued in 1998; and then 8 years later Winchester facilities in New Haven were permanently shut down. We're offering this very nice 1300 Defender for only $ 319.95. Long Guns: $20 flat fee shipping to the lower 48 states; $50 to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, UPS Ground, insured. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
