This listing is for the exact pistol in the photos. Dealers, Collectors, and Law Enforcement, however, may take any number of very similar pistols we have on hand at the same per-gun price, and with no additional shipping charges. The Heckler & Koch Universal Self Loading Pistol, the USP, made its debut in 1993. From its AE German Date Code, this USP 45 Variant III was manufactured in 2004. It served with the officers of the Roanoke County Police Department in our Sister State of Virginia from its issuance until the present year, when the Department changed to .40 S&W Pistols from another manufacturer. Manufacturer is Heckler & Koch gmbh of Oberndorf, Germany. HK sku number was 214814, or 704503 with HK’s current system. Type is blowback single and double action, hammer fired semi-automatic pistol, linkless Browning type as the manual puts it. Action is traditional double action; that is, from a resting hammer position it can be fired with a long double action 10 pound vicinity pull on the first shot, and subsequent shots by means of a 4 to 4 1/2 pound range single action short pull with a moderate amount of felt creep. Trigger is .400 Smooth Faced Polymer Combat type, with a solid, serrated spur Commander type steel hammer. Control lever engages to safely decock the hammer when the operator chooses to end the firing session. Variant III favors the right-handed shooter, decocking lever is mounted on the left rear side of the frame. All USP Pistols have a firing pin safety to guard against accidental discharges if the pistol is dropped. The USP’s slide is machined from a single piece of steel, and houses the polygonal rifled 4 inch barrel and firing pin safety. Both slide release and decocking lever are extended for ease of operation. Frame is high impact polymer with checkered backstrap and true ambidextrous magazine release. The frame also houses a universal rail system, as the photos show; and HK was the pioneer in this area as well. Sight system is drift adjustable three dot Tru-Dot Night Sights, with strong luminosity from our darkroom inspection. Front and rear sights are dovetailed into the slide. Finish is matte blue. Extreme overall length is 7 5/8 inches; maximum height 5 1/4 inches from rear sight top to floorplate, and grip frame thickness is only 1 1/4 inches. Weight empty on this .45 USP is 29 1/2 ounces. This pistol comes with one 12 round factory HK magazine, so capacity is 13 rounds of .45 ACP Caliber ammunition. HK Quality and accuracy has been demonstrated now for many decades, and the USP has won the respect and admiration of military, police, and civilian marksmen throughout the world. This pistol has been well maintained, and its surface detractions are moderate, with faint holster contact whitening on the slide, slide operation whitening and buffing to the barrel surface, carry polishing to the grip frame, and some edge whitening to the hammer spur. We classify it as Very Good Condition, 80 to 85 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this weapon was fired 600 times for annual qualification during its tenure, no rounds at all for an HK USP. It comes in its Department Issue HK box. Replacement pricing on this pistol is over $1,000 in our area, and there aren’t any to speak of. We’re offering this one, however, for only $ 589.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, the District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. For civilian buyers in jurisdictions with 10 shot Magazine laws, $20 off but no magazine.
