Up for sale is a Ruger No.1 red pad rifle in .243 caliber. I bought this rifle from the original owner and i have never fired it myself. It came with several boxes of new and partially used ammo which i will include in the deal along with a lightly used RCBS full length reloading die set and a brand new RCBS neck sizer die. Also included will be a new in the box BSA Contender 6-24x50 rifle scope. The ammo boxes can be seen in the photo and i will describe the number of live rounds and fired brass inside. The two white boxes of "Top Notch" brand US made ammo are full and include 20rds each of 75gr Sierra hollow points in Remington cases. The two boxes of Remington ammo have 33 live rounds and 7 empty cases. This ammo is 80gr pointed soft point ammo. The Winchester box has 12 live rounds and 8 empty cases and this ammo has 100gr power-point soft point bullets. The blue Federal box only holds 16 empty cases and no live rounds. That is around $250 worth of ammo, dies, and scope, so you can see the rifle is costing less than $750 for this beautiful specimen. This particular Ruger No.1 in .243 is in extremely nice condition and shows only very light handling marks on the stock (mainly forearm, nothing that showed up in my photos). The wood grain in the butt stock is particularly pretty and is much nicer than most No.1's out there. I can see no wear in the bore and it appears that this rifle has been shot very little. I would guess that the rounds missing in the ammo boxes might be the only rounds fired through this rifle, but i don't know for sure since i am not the original owner. The factory original scope base and rings are included of course. The current suggested retail on this rifle alone is $1240 and i need to get only $995 plus shipping for the rifle, scope, ammo, and loading dies. Look over the photos............she's a classic beauty that is in great shape for this price. Shipping will be calculated after the location of the buyer is known. I am not interested in trades and the price is firm. Fuzz on the butt pad is fibers from carpeting in the gun safe and was wiped off after noticing it in the photos. Thanks for looking!
